An Incredible Way To Make Banana Bread

When you want something a little bit extra on the table, save time and energy and prep some of this simple and scrumptious banana bread.

When the ladies were organizing our monthly book club meeting, I told them that I would bring one of the snacks. Everyone kind of just rotates and offers up a turn when they haven’t brought something in a while. It works best for us that way. Nobody is ever forced to bring something. Life is crazy hectic enough as it is, so we don’t want to put any more pressure on anyone.

I had found a recipe for banana bread that I had been waiting to try out anyways, so it was going to be the perfect excuse to make it. I have a had a lot of breads like this in my day, but I can say that this is definitely one of the best that I’ve ever tasted. It’s so moist and delicious, and not to mention extremely easy!

An Incredible Way To Make Banana Bread

Total time 1 hour 40 mins

Makes 1 loaf of bread

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup Domino granulated sugar
  • 8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Butter a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan.
  2. Cream the sugar and butter in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. In a small bowl, mash the bananas with a fork. Mix in the milk and cinnamon. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  4. Add the banana mixture to the creamed mixture and stir until combined. Add dry ingredients, mixing just until flour disappears.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Set aside to cool on a rack for 15 minutes. Remove bread from pan, invert onto rack and cool completely before slicing.
  6. Spread slices with honey or serve with ice cream.

QUICK TIP

Toss in a cup of chocolate chips for added sweetness.
