Roseanne-Inspired Loose Meat Sandwiches

In true Roseanne fashion, these sandwiches are extremely easy to make and really affordable. Of course, you could add some more too it to pep things up if you wanted to. For instance, my husband put a slice of cheese on his before eating it. I am not a fan of slice cheese but I wouldn’t mind mixing some shredded right into the pan the next time I make them. It’s an extremely versatile recipe, but amazing just as it’s written. I suggest trying it how it is, and then you can decide if you need to make any changes. Roseanne-Inspired Loose Meat Sandwiches

Makes 3 to 4 sandwiches

  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 yellow onion
  • kosher salt
  • ground black pepper
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 c. Heinz yellow mustard
  • Kosher Vlasic dill pickles
  • 4 plain hamburger rolls

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Once the oil is shimmering, add onion, stirring occasionally until translucent and tender, 6 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef, using a wooden spoon to break up the meat into small crumbles. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Once half the meat has browned, add garlic, Worcestershire and mustard. Stir until combined, and cook the meat until it is no longer pink at all.
  4. Pile meat onto one hamburger bun, top with pickles, and cover with the other half of the bun. Repeat until you have four sandwiches.
